2030 Agenda and the decade of action for the SDG CHAMPIONS

Our Better We Better World initiative was created in November 2018 to bring together, and mobilize, the greatest possible number of citizens across the world to support the 2030 Agenda and to ensure the success of the 17 SDGs. It is our priority, simply because it is a vital necessity for the future wellbeing of Humanity. But the actions of governments and public and private organizations alone will not be enough: all living beings on Earth must act and contribute with resilience and cooperation.

We are still in the midst of a Covid-19 pandemic, so it is premature to analyze the feedback and learn from it. But we already know that the virus and the ensuing containment of nearly 4 billion people has plunged the world into an unprecedented health, economic, financial, social, political and humanitarian crisis. To cope with the disease and get out of the crisis, citizens everywhere will have to show, together, the same determination and the same collaboration as the teams engaged on the front line of the fight against the virus.

Whatever the post-Covid scenario, we cannot and should not go back to our endless incantations: ‘back to normal’ – ‘business as usual’ – and – ‘the show must go on’.

Now is the time to act! Unity is strength!

Having followed appropriate mobilization programs on the 2030 Agenda, young people, as well as public and private citizens organizations, will be resolutely committed to the immediate implementation of the 17 SDGs. They will then produce concrete results, visible and understandable by all.

But, in all countries, the essential individual actions must also be part of large-scale initiatives with high impact which will, finally, face with hope-filled determination the problems and challenges of humanity, locally and globally.

This multi-actor cooperation, led by the European SDG CHAMPIONS Foundation, will have a double mission:

1. Communicate the 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals to 90% of the world's citizens who ignore them;

2. Implement the 17 SDGs on the ground thanks to ad hoc project teams deployed in administrations and institutions and acting with impact for sustainable development and the achievement of the ambitions of the 2030 Agenda.

From the thousands of studies and proposals on The Next World and The World We Want, they will select the most relevant and effective operational actions and will vigorously implement them on the ground.

We have confidence in ourselves and in the future because we know there is a way out of the labyrinth, and we trust the young people and the adults who will build with us a better, peaceful and happy world.

For love of humanity, future generations, and the Earth, let's act together now!
